I\u2019ve seen many MLM organizations grow to a big size but unfortunately break down and people quit due to bad leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n

Below are a list of the common mistakes that I see MLM leaders make.<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Ego Over Outcome<\/b><\/h3>\n

A leader who gets too caught up with the hype and recognition becomes unattractive and soon become more interested in how they are perceived than the volume that is being created in the organization. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leadership is all about getting the results and not about ego nor pride.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ego and pride often prevent leader from taking the time to talk to someone. \u00a0Which leads us to number 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) Lazy with Communication<\/b><\/h3>\n

Most problems in MLM (and in the world) can be solved if both parties took the time to communicate their differences. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a leader you must communicate. \u00a0It is way better to over communicate than not communicate enough.<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be lazy with your communication. \u00a0A 10 minute phone call is much more effective than 10 text messages. \u00a0Better yet, meet in person or Skype so that people can see you on the webcam and how genuine you are.<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Going Around Someone<\/b><\/h3>\n

This happens when leaders get lazy and don\u2019t communicate with the people involved in a situation. \u00a0Instead of going to that person directly, they take a \u201cshortcut\u201d and go around that person. \u00a0Worse, they may even talk bad about that person. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a sign of leadership weakness when you are afraid to directly confront a situation. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaders are able to make the difficult conversations regardless of whether they like it or not.<\/span><\/p>\n

4) Comparing People<\/b><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s one thing to do friendly competitions and motivate team members but it can get nasty and resentful if leaders start comparing downlines. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyone is different so never compare!<\/span><\/p>\n

5) \u201cBack in the day when I was\u2026\u201d<\/b><\/h3>\n

The worse type of comparison is when the leader compares his downlines to himself!<\/span><\/p>\n

No one cares how things were when you were building your business cause times change. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The skill set for MLM is the same but the vehicle and techniques are different. \u00a0A great example is someone who built their businesses back in the 1990s may have used teleconferences while most people use webinars now.<\/span><\/p>\n

6) Singling People Out in Public<\/b><\/h3>\n

If you have an issue with someone, speak directly with that person privately. \u00a0Don\u2019t take it out in public. \u00a0See #2<\/span><\/p>\n

7) Using Profanity<\/b><\/h3>\n

Passion is good but don\u2019t use profanity. \u00a0Some people are okay with it but others may be turned off. \u00a0You never know. \u00a0It\u2019s always better to stay on the safe side.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, if you can\u2019t control your tongue, then what CAN you control as a leader?<\/span><\/p>\n

8) Losing Your Temper<\/b><\/h3>\n

Emotional Intelligence is important for a true leader. \u00a0I know we are human and it\u2019s tough to suppress our emotions but never express your anger in public. \u00a0It\u2019s always better to stay cool and controlled. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your downlines want to follow someone that is cool under pressure. \u00a0Not someone that will just blow up easily. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9) Disrespectful of Other People\u2019s Time<\/b><\/h3>\n

As the leader you should be the model for excellent time management. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Always remember that most of your downlines not only need guidance on how to build their businesses part time, but they are making personal sacrifices to build their MLM business.<\/span><\/p>\n

The easiest way to respect someone\u2019s time is to always:<\/span><\/p>\n
