You want to keep it simple.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Always want to end with a question to keep the conversation flowing and take an action.\n<ul>\n<li>For example: \u201cI had an awesome day. How is your day?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When you start the message, start with commonality.\n<ul>\n<li>Example: Mention a post they shared or a sports team you both have in common.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to avoid the mistake of waiting too long to invite your prospect<\/h2>\n<p>We all get stuck in that \u201cbuilding rapport\u201d stage, especially when you are building online. For offline team building, you may invite them the second or third time you talk to them. But for online team building, you need to invite right away. People are used to quick messages online.<\/p>\n<p>How to meet friends online:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>C &#8211; Comment<\/li>\n<li>L &#8211; Like<\/li>\n<li>A &#8211; Add them as a friend<\/li>\n<li>M &#8211; Message them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you are messaging them, invite them directly on the first interaction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The reason why people get stuck in the rapport building phase and how to overcome it. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re afraid of rejection and you feel like you\u2019re using people.<\/p>\n<h3>Solutions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Know that most people will say no. If you are expecting that \u201cno\u201d you won\u2019t be afraid of rejection.<\/li>\n<li>Your goal is to collect friends.<\/li>\n<li>Give people a way out.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up six months later<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Powerful networking tip<\/h3>\n<p>Make a list of every new friend you\u2019ve made this year. At the end of each year, review that list to see how many relationships you created that year and you will see how your network has grown.<\/p>\n<h3>How to follow up after rejection<\/h3>\n<p>Start a conversation. Give them a win and an update, and see if they\u2019re open.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy the way, I know it wasn\u2019t for you 6 months ago.
