Currently I’m working on some training to improve my team’s communication skills and I find it challenging because different people learns it in a different pace. How would you conduct your communication training with your team of Gen Ys? What are the few methods that you have used so far is effective?<\/p>\n

Network Marketing is a Teaching Business<\/h2>\n

As you grow in network marketing you will realize more and more that this is not a sales business but a teaching business.<\/p>\n

Of course you need the prospecting skills to get you going but once you build up a team it is your teaching ability that determines how big your team will grow.<\/p>\n

You must have effective trainings and the only way to tell if your training is effective or not is to see if your distributors can remember and implement what you teach them.<\/p>\n

Everyone Learns Differently<\/h3>\n

There are many different ways to teach and the first step is to realize that everyone learns differently.<\/p>\n

How each distributor learns depend on what senses are more dominant.<\/p>\n

Some people rely more on sight.<\/p>\n

Some rely on touch.<\/p>\n

Some rely on auditory.<\/p>\n

Some rely on feelings.<\/p>\n

I’m not going to go into detail of how to teach to these senses but just realize that the MORE senses you engage in your trainings, the more effective they will be.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3 Tips to Train Your Team More Effectively<\/h2>\n

I will share you 3 tips that will help you train and get your team to learn better.<\/p>\n

1) Keep it Simple and Duplicatable<\/h3>\n

Your goal should be to keep it simple and duplicable.<\/p>\n

Think of the distributor that is least skilled and least experienced and teach to his level and ask yourself these 2 questions:<\/p>\n

1) When he goes home, will he remember what you taught him?<\/strong><\/p>\n

2) Would he be able to teach what you taught him to others?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If the answer is NO to either <\/em> of these 2 questions, then you have not kept the training simple enough! <\/strong><\/p>\n

And don’t worry about the leaders and whether they will be bored that the trainings will be too simple or not detailed enough for them.<\/p>\n

Leaders are leaders and they will take action and go out and learn things themselves<\/strong> so you don’t have to worry about them.<\/p>\n

Just think about your situation\u2026 you probably did not learn enough from your team and you went out to seek more training.<\/p>\n

So don’t worry about leaders when you do group trainings. Focus on the masses and you can always work with the leaders 1 on 1 later or like I said, they will go out and learn it themselves.<\/p>\n

So keep it simple enough that anyone can duplicate your training!<\/p>\n

2) People Remember Experiences<\/h3>\n

People don’t remember facts nor details.<\/p>\n

What they rememeber is their experience. <\/strong><\/p>\n

So make sure every training is memorable.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

When they go home and someone asks them how was the training they just attended, would they be able to share their experience in a few sentences?<\/p>\n

No one remembers the details but they remember the experiences and you can create experiences through engaging different senses and making the training interesting.<\/p>\n

So focus on creating an Experience they will never forget.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Which leads us to the next IMPORTANT TIP\u2026<\/p>\n

3) Engage Your Distributors<\/h3>\n

If your associates just sit there and listen, they may have a good time at the training but once they go home, they will forget everything.<\/p>\n

Instead, teach them by engaging them.<\/p>\n

Get them involved.<\/p>\n

2 Examples of Using Engagement During Trainings<\/h4>\n

1) Allow Active Participation:<\/h5>\n

Having them to do a Objections role play instead of just sitting there listening to how to Overcome Objections.<\/p>\n

When they go home, they will remember their experieince of speaking up and that increases the chances of them learning.<\/p>\n

By the way, what is the BEST way to learn and get good at something?<\/p>\n

The BEST way to learn is to TEACH! <\/strong><\/p>\n

That is why I teach and speak all the time. It keeps my skills sharp.<\/p>\n

And teaching is just another form of engagement. Everytime I teach, I engage myself and force myself to use all the senses from the time I studying and preparing the material to actually conducting the training.<\/p>\n

2) Have Distributor Repeat Back to You<\/h5>\n

This is really engagement again.<\/p>\n

If you teach something to someone and afterwards ask them if they have any questions or if they understand, chances are they will say they understand and “got it.”<\/p>\n

But do they really know it?<\/p>\n

Chances are they don’t.<\/p>\n

So to find out whether they actually learned it or not in a nice way, just simply ask them to repeat it back to you as if you were a new distributor they just signed up.<\/p>\n

If they can’t repeat back what you taught them, they they did NOT know it.<\/p>\n

Most of the time they may have to refer back to their notes which is okay. But even when they go back to their notes, can they repeat it back to you well?<\/p>\n

This is a nice friendly way to see how effective your training is.<\/p>\n

Always Focus On Others<\/h3>\n

So go ahead and apply these 3 tips.<\/p>\n

Remember to focus on others.<\/p>\n

What may be obvious to you may not be obvious to others since everyone learns differently.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the more you engage your distributors and make the trainings memorable, you will find yourself much more effective and start to see duplication in your organization.<\/p>\n
